We all worked together to make the little one's a sandbox for Christmas

Jeff working with the little ones to take the dog's pen down that never actually kept them contained because they just dug out! This is where the sandbox will go since it will be nice and shaded in the summer.

And of course Logan had to take a break from all the hard work to play.

Daulton and Damien working together!! It warms a mother's heart!!! ;-)
Lexi did her part by being cute!

We really wear them out around here!

I came in the other evening to this:

And a close up of Jeff and Lexi because they are so precious!

More to the story behind the tree

My friend at work thinks I should tell the whole story behind the tree.

I got off work and called Daulton as I normally do. I said, "So what's going on?" Daulton kinda goes hmph and chuckles saying, "Nothin' really." I immediately get suspicious and ask what he is doing. He tells me, "I got our Christmas tree, momma." I asked him what he was talking about and he tells me he found a tree in the woods (beside the house) and he brought it home. I said, "Daulton, you can't cut those trees down!" He tells me, "No momma, it was already chopped down, it was laying there with a rope already beside it and everything! It was calling my name momma!!!!"

So I pull up to the house to this big thing in my yard! There's never any telling what I will come home to. Hmmm, now that I think about it - that must be the way Jeff feels since he has come home to no front door when I decided to switch two doors, a new wall when I decided I needed a laundry room, a closet in the little boys' room when there wasn't one there when he left that morning, etc. Poor guy!!

Daulton has found his Christmas Spirit

Daulton found this HUGE tree in the woods next to the house and drug it all the way home. We have decided that since the little ones always get into the tree in the house, this will be our tree this year (outside). Some of their friends came over to help decorate.

Daulton and Damien decorated the house with lights. We have never had lights on the house before so the boys took it upon themselves to make sure we did this year. That is Daulton's truck in the middle...yes, he even decorated his truck. Can you imagine what he looks like going down the street?

This is the above pic with a flash so that you can see Daulton's truck.

Just a few random pictures

I have to put onesies on Lexi now because she has figured out how to take her shirt off. She's so proud of herself!

These are several days apart. She gets mad and lays down to whine until someone comes and picks her up. We have been ignoring her so twice now she has fallen asleep like that.

Aren't they cute!!!!

My big boy cooking!

Halloween Pictures

This is my favorite picture of all time of Damien and Daulton!!

The boys had a great halloween. Jeff took the kids trick or treating with Tiffanie (our neighbor) and her little boy. The boys also got together and made pumpkins.

Even Bible time isn't dull around here

Once I week I try to have a family Bible and game time. I am trying to teach the little ones Romans 8:28 (Love is patient, Love is kind...). We come to the part "it does not envy, it does not boast" and Dylan asks what envy means. I tell him it means jealous. He says, "So it's just more pisticated?" I think he meant sophisticated!!

Later we were talking about the Good Samaritan and the lesson used the word 'neighbor' and Lucas said, "So we shouldn't knock on our neighbor's door and pee on it?" Yeah, where does he come up with this stuff?

Logan and Lexi's Birthday pics

I really like this picture of my mom and Lexi.

My mom gave Lexi her first doll and she just loved it!

My babies are yet another year older. It is so serene to think that they are getting older and bigger. Lexi is beginning to walk and Logan is such a great big brother to her. She just lights up when she sees him! It is so sweet.

My daughter is one year old!!

No matter how many children we have, the awesomeness of God never ceases. I am just amazed at each tiny person and watching them grow to become who God wants them to be. Lexi is an amazing addition to our family and we love her immensely. She brings out such gentleness and joy in each one of the males in our house. She is absolutely adored by each member of our family.

She has started to try to walk recently, but she gets so tickled at herself that she can only make it 2 or 3 steps... then she sits down and gives us the biggest grin you've ever seen. Her whole face lights up when she smiles and the room brightens with it. Logan was walking around with her yesterday holding her hands, gently leading her through the house. Even as young as he is, he wants to protect her and play with her.

When Jeff walks through the door when he has been at work all day, she looks at her daddy with those big blue eyes, puts her hands up and it is as if the two of them are the only ones in the room. She delights in the attention of her daddy and he in hers. I love to watch the two of them together because it is pure love.

I thank God every day for the gift of each and every one of my children. They are such wonderful people that take such joy in each other.

We love you Lexi and Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

Pictures to follow.

Update on Lexi's allergies

Apparently I had a fit over nothing. We took her to the doctor, who tested her for about 20 things, and she is not allergic to anything. We have since fed her peanut butter and jelly, eggs, milk, you name it... and she is not allergic to anything. Thank God!!

I guess that just goes to show you that no matter how much experience you have, your kids can still make you overreact and make a fool of yourself. ;-)

We think there may be a problem....

Damien texts me yesterday, right as I was leaving work, and sends me this picture:

and says, "Lexi's eye is swollen." Well, Logan had been eating some Reese's Puffs and had then spilled some in the floor. Since she won't eat anything other than what is on the floor, I think she got into them and has shown us that she has a peanut allergy. She is better today but her eyes are still a little red and slightly swollen. I took her to the doctor and he is referring her to a pediatric allergist. We will probably be going to see the one that took care of Lucas when he had such bad eczema problems; this guy offices with the same asthma dr that I saw when I was little.

Apparently peanut allergies can be very serious and they never outgrow them. My boys are done living off of peanut butter and jelly - we have given the peanut butter we do have to the neighbors. When a child has a peanut allergy, the initial reaction is typically mild, like Lexi's eye, but any subsequent reactions can be severe, even causing anaphylaxis. So, no more peanut butter for us!!! I am so feeling so blessed that we figured it out early and that the reaction was not any more serious than it was.

They are too cute!!

I put Logan and Lucas in the bath the other day and was headed in to give Lexi a bath in the kitchen sink. I thought, well duh, I should just put her in here with them. She really enjoyed herself!!

Lookie what I made!!!!

A few days ago Damien started telling me he wanted some tamales. Well after looking around and not being able to find anywhere close that we could buy them, I decided that I would just make tamales. Well Jeff and Daulton just laughed at me and told me that a white girl can't make tamales. Of course being the hard-headed kind of person that I am - that just made me want to prove them wrong. So, I set my mind to making some tamales. To make a long story short, Jeff just came up to me, kissed me and said, "Those were very good, honey."

I'm not one to really like tamales because they seem kinda bland and dry, but these were very good if I do say so myself!!

If you give something to someone, how do you still have it???

That's what Lucas wants to know. Several of us have a cold and Lucas has been telling me for days that he still has his cold. This morning he comes in and says, "Momma I'm going to give my cold to someone else." Not thinking about it I told him he didn't want someone else to get sick; he then told me that he was tired of the cold and he wanted someone else to take it for a while.

Siblings, what a wonderful gift!!

Two things happened this morning that made me see, once again, that siblings are such a wonderful gift for a child.

Logan came crawling into my bed this morning and snuggled up next to me. This woke Lexi up since her crib is right next to our bed. After I nursed Lexi, I got up to get dressed and the two little ones were laying, side by side, in the bed. Logan would poke Lexi and make some little sound and then Lexi would do the same to him. They both were just smiling so big at each other... it was so sweet!!

I was sitting in the front room as Daulton was getting ready to go to work this morning. He came over and kissed me good-bye and told me he loved me. He then looked at Logan all sweet and said, "Bye Logan, I love you." Logan looked at him with great big eyes and in his shy, sweet almost a small growl voice, said "Bye Daulton, wuv you too." Daulton then looked at Lexi and said the same thing to her.... of course she didn't answer but Daulton had such a loving look on his face. Makes a momma's heart just swell!!!

Now just some random pictures

This is sooooo cute. I think I am going to blow this one up. Whatever Lexi does, Logan has to do too.

Evan has been friends with the boys since they were young (Daulton and Evan were in Kindergarden). Maddox is his nephew and is very sweet little boy.

Daulton just loves to do Lexi's hair. I think he went a little overboard with the accessories though.

Isn't she cute?

Dylan was playing with the camera at MeMe and Granddad's. Crazy kid!!

The boy's were having a potato peeling contest to see who was the fastest. See it all over Damien? It was also all over my floor.

Logan doesn't understand that some things are Lexi's and he is too big for them.

The big boys took the little ones fishing. Lucas looks so excited.

What one does, so does the other!! Dylan has to get his picture taken too.

Dad attempting to clean the fish so that we can fry'em up..... he wasn't very successful, unfortunately.

Jeff's birthday

The most wonderful husband in the world turned the big 5-0 this year. He doesn't look that old, does he? I guess I have made his life so wonderful that he just refuses to age. Ha, ha.

This man is such a blessing to me, I can't even express how thankful I am that God sent him to me. We just complement each other in so many ways!! Where I come up short, Jeff excels and vice versa. I have got to be the luckiest girl in the world to have a husband that loves me and treats me as God would have a man treat his wife. He is gracious, hard working, funny, and best of all, makes such beautiful children. ;-)

I have been neglecting my blog!!!

It occurs to me that I have been neglecting my blog. Recent events keep reminding me of that since I wanted to be able to remember the crazy stuff that happens around here. I only have a few minutes before Jeff is ready to go to bed so I just wanted to blog about today's antics.

Damien was kicking the soccer ball against the fireplace and he knocked Logan's feet out from underneath him. Logan falls and smashes his forehead into the tile floor. Well, he has Jeff's gag reflex so he was crying so hard that he throws up..... while I am holding him!! It gets all over me and him and smelled atrocious! Yuck!!! Damien is standing there saying, "Well it's not like I meant to do it!" Yeah, that helped!!

Dylan is such a big boy!

My big boy is just getting bigger. He has thought he was grown since he was about two. I remember him looking into the window from the porch when he was 2 and saying, "What's up homies!" Because he always hung out with the big boys he didn't understand that he wasn't as big as they were.... and he still doesn't! He does a great job of stepping up and taking over to help out when the real teenagers are gone. He has matured so much in the last year that I can't believe he is growing up so quickly.

He talks allll the time and reminds me so much of Daulton at that same age. He has a great sense of humor and is very quick witted (hmmm just like his momma???). We all love him so much and are so proud of the young man he is becoming.

Haven't been around in a while

Well, I haven't taken the time to update the blog lately, but I have the cutest pictures of Lexi. We are going the park in a little while and then to the mall to find some Easter stuff for the little ones. Anway, just wanted to share.
